Plattsmouth Community Schools has been educating the children of this community since 1857 — before Nebraska was even a state. That's not a small thing. It means we've had a long time to figure out what matters, and a community that has consistently shown up for its kids.
Today, PCS serves approximately 1,700 students across four buildings: the Early Childhood Center, Plattsmouth Elementary, Plattsmouth Middle School, and Plattsmouth High School. From a child's very first classroom to the moment a Blue Devil walks across the graduation stage, we're here for all of it.
We hold high expectations — and we back them up. Our Career Academies give high school students real-world preparation in STEAM, Business, and CTE. Our Early Childhood programs serve families from prenatal through Pre-K. Our 1:1 device program prepares students for a technology-driven world. And in 2019, Plattsmouth voters passed a $15 million bond with nearly 60% approval to invest in the future of these buildings and these programs. That vote said something about this community that we haven't forgotten.
Proud. Principled. Prepared. That's what it means to be a Blue Devil.

A history rooted in community
The first Plattsmouth school supported by public funds was established in 1857. The first public Board of Education was elected in 1868. Since then, the district has grown, adapted, and invested alongside the community it serves.
In 2010, federal recovery funds helped expand the elementary school and improve accessibility at the Early Childhood Center. The former A&M Green Power John Deere building adjacent to the high school was converted into the PACE Complex, expanding vocational education for students.
In 2019, Plattsmouth voters approved a $15 million bond — with nearly 60% approval — to fund mechanical upgrades, security improvements, and a high school addition that expanded Career Academy programs in culinary arts, automotive/diesel, welding, and construction.
That consistent investment — from the community, in the community — is the story of PCS.
