60% of our class dressed up for Spirit Day!  Everyone looked fantastic!

 Reminder:

Tomorrow is Spirit Day - FOOTBALL FRENZY!  Wear anything football/cheerleader related (minus the cleats, helmets, pads and any face paint).  The class with the most participation wins the Spirit Trophy!

We learned a little bit more about Martin Luther King, Jr. today.  We learned that he was an amazing man who helped to make our country a better place.  The kids are learning a new song this week to help them learn about the great things he did.

Election Day is here!  We learned about Mitt Romney and Barack Obama today.  We learned what it means to vote and what a polling place might look like.  We set up our own polling place in the classroom and the class voted to see who they thought was going to be our next president.

Results: Obama - 9
              Romney - 6

Tonight, we will see if our predictions were right.

 

Day 5 of Red Ribbon Week

This week, it is K4's turn to water the Kindergarten trees in the outdoor classroom.  The class did a great job!

Mrs. Reich from the ESU came to our class to show us the right way to wash our hands and keep those nasty germs away.  Everyone was amazed at how many germs were still left on their hands when they were done washing.

Day 2 of Red Ribbon Week - Today the class wore jeans to declare that they are "Jean"iouses to be drug free.  They each got a new pencil to remind them to "Vote for the Future" and stay drug free.

Levi brought a friend to school for the day.  Meet Firecracker, the walking stick.....

These are just a few of the fire safety tips we learned during Fire Safety Week.  We were fortunate to have several firefighters come to teach us how to be safer in case there is a fire and we got to see the inside of a firetruck!  Check out  www.sparky.org for some more family activities and fire safety tips.
