Instructor: Mrs. Knox
Welcome to Kindergarten Room 3! My name is Ms. Knox. I am looking forward to the new school year and working with your children and helping them to achieve at their full potential. This summer, our family went to California. I got to see Disneyland and the beach again but for the first time was able to enjoy my son experiencing these vacation sites. We had a wonderful time and he is already asking to go back!
The 2013-2014 school year will be my ninth year at Plattsmouth Elementary School, all in Kindergarten. I am originally from Riverside, California. I attended and earned my A.A. degree in Early Childhood Education from Riverside Community College before moving to Chico, California where I attended Chico State University. I earned my B.A. degree in Liberal Studies-Elementary Education with a concentration in Music Education. I moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 2001. I continued school and earned my NE teaching credential from Doane College in Crete in 2005. Following the completion of the credential requirements, I took three graduate classes through Doane College during the summer of 2005.
When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have a three-year-old son, John. We also have two black labs, Abby and Dakota. Some other interests (when I have time) include: sports, backpacking, camping, traveling, reading and playing board/card games. John is excited to begin Preschool.
The parent-teacher relationship is vital to your child's success in school. By working together, we can help your child have a very fulfilling learning experience.
Throughout the year, we will communicate through notes, e-mails, telephone calls, school and classroom newsletters and report cards. There are also two parent-teacher conferences (October and March) and additional parent conferences may be set up as they are needed.
Once again, I would like to welcome everyone to K-3. The 2013-2014 school year is going to be a great experience for your child. If you have any questions or concerns, PLEASE contact me either by phone, e-mail or note sent to school with your child. I would like to thank you in advance for your support and commitment throughout the year.
