    Reading Intervention

    Instructor: Mrs. Fox

I have been teaching school since 1974.  The first 4 years of my career were in Melbourne, Australia.  My husband, Larry, and I moved back to Nebraska in 1978 where I continued my career in Plattsmouth teaching 1/2 day Kindergarten at First Ward and Wintersteen Schools.  Throughout my 40 years in Plattsmouth, I have also taught at Lincoln Elementary, Central, Columbian, and currently Plattsmouth Elementary School.  I have taught Kindergarten through 4th grade, looped with my students in 1st and 2nd grade, taught Reading Recovery, and now LLI (Leveled Literacy Intervention).  I became a Reading Specialist in 2002.  I love my job because of the students here.  I have taught summer school here in Plattsmouth, and at Bellevue Public Schools, and Omaha Public Schools.  My family lived in Plattsmouth for 14 years.  We currently live in Bellevue so that both my husband and I each drive to work the same distance, but in opposite directions.  We have 2 adult daughters.  Lindsey lives in Omaha, and Ashley lives in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  I love to travel, am an avid reader, love movies, music, and the beach.  My family's favorite summer vacation is spending a week at a house on the beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama.  My favorite thing to do at home during the summer is to sit out in the backyard in the mornings on my porch swing, drink my coffee, read, and listen to the birds.  It's so peaceful....
