Mrs. Poppen

My name is Megan Poppen, I grew up in Riverton, Nebraska and attended school at Franklin Public Schools through my sophomore year. My family then moved to Tekamah, Nebraska where I finished my final two years at Tekamah-Herman High School.

After high school I attended Doane College in Crete for two years then transferred to The University of South Dakota in Vermillion for my last three years of college. While at Doane I was a member of the sorority Omega Psi Theta,  sang in both choirs and participated in two different plays.  At USD I spent a year on the choir and competed in multiple intramural sporting events.  I completed my initial Master’s Degree in Special Education through UNK in 2013 and began working on my next Master's Degree in Leadership in Instructional Technology with hopes to complete in 2020.

I have taught many different science classes at PHS over the past nine years including Biology and Physical Science I am one of two ATEAM science teachers because of my love for plants and doing "hands-on" activities. I teach the Botany course at PHS and it falls within the expectations of ATEAM interests. I am the student council sponsor and asst. high school track and field coach.

I have been happily married to my husband Nick since in 2010. We have two beautiful children together. Our oldest is a girl named Libby and youngest is a boy named Asher. They keep us very busy and active.
