Through Early Head Start and Sixpence, PEC provides comprehensive, family-centered services for children from prenatal through age three — right here in Plattsmouth and across Cass County. These aren't childcare programs. They're whole-child, whole-family services that address education and development, health and nutrition, mental health, and family support all in one place.
Early Head Start follows federal performance standards designed to ensure consistent, high-quality services for the families we serve. Plattsmouth Community Schools is the grantee agency for Early Head Start in Cass County and for Sixpence within district boundaries — a responsibility we take seriously.
Sixpence is Nebraska's signature investment in infants and toddlers, supporting high-quality early care for the state's youngest and most vulnerable children. Our Home-Based Specialists provide flexible, personalized support — working within families' schedules to be there when they need it most.
