Plattsmouth High School has been named the 2026 Outstanding Career Academy Program by the Nebraska Department of Education, recognizing the school’s commitment to providing high-quality career and technical education opportunities for students.
The award recognizes outstanding achievement among career and technical education programs across Nebraska. Programs are evaluated on student achievement, innovative instruction, career and academic preparation, student leadership opportunities, career guidance and work-based learning, alignment with Nebraska workforce needs, and community engagement.
This marks the second time PHS Career Academies have received this statewide honor, having previously earned the award in 2018.
Through the PHS Career Academies, students have opportunities to explore career interests while developing the academic, technical, and professional skills needed for success beyond high school. Career-focused coursework, dual-credit opportunities, work-based learning, partnerships with area colleges and businesses, and participation in career and technical student organizations help students connect their classroom learning to future education and careers.
Receiving the Outstanding Career Academy Program award reflects the collective work of PHS students, staff, families, and community and industry partners who continue to support meaningful career preparation for students.
